The augmented reality game is a GPS-fueled scavenger hunt for fictional creatures, but it\u2019s also a worldwide phenomenon and a massive <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/miketempleman\/2016\/07\/14\/how-to-use-pokemon-go-for-marketing\/#6d250c477929\" target=\"_blank\">opportunity for marketing<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Brick and Mortar Breakthrough<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the greatest thing about Pokemon Go is the fact that it\u2019s getting people of all different ages and backgrounds to get off their couches and out into the real world. If you\u2019re a brick and mortar store, this is a <a href=\"http:\/\/adage.com\/article\/digitalnext\/pok-mon-killer-app-location-based-marketing\/304955\/\" target=\"_blank\">huge opportunity<\/a> to get more foot traffic.<\/p>\n<p>With \u201cPokestops,\u201d a feature of the game that rewards players with bonuses at fixed locations, businesses can \u201cdrop a lure\u201d for digital monsters nearby. Just download the free game and find out.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you sell insurance or vintage T-shirts, the location marketing opportunities are too great to pass up. Drop a lure, post about it on social media, and get out and engage with the throngs of people that show up.
