With slogans like \u201cCrypto Without Chaos\u201d and \u201cCrypto Needs Rules,\u201d the idea is to educate the public on the need for regulated exchanges in the blockchain space.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s terrific that they\u2019re bringing these issues into the mainstream. But <em>where is the bitcoin brand campaign?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<a class=\"ms_click_tracking\" href=\"https:\/\/mediashower.com\/blog\/blockchain-ecosystem\/?__mscta=2858_75414_10247\"><img class=\"fr-fic fr-dii\" src=\"https:\/\/mediashower.com\/static\/img\/ce\/1CB36BD4-1EB2-11EB-8542-CB87B27D50D9\/MediaShower-CTA-3.png\" \/><\/a><\/center>What we need is a big, bold, branding campaign for bitcoin. I\u2019m talking big-time TV spots, bus wraps, and billboards. Why?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Advertising drives awareness<\/strong>. For blockchain to hit mainstream, people need to understand what it is.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Advertising builds trust<\/strong>. For better or worse, people tend to trust what they see on TV. (\u201cIf bitcoin\u2019s on TV, it must be true.\u201d)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Advertising changes minds<\/strong>. If people are exposed to the same message enough times, it sticks. (See: political advertising.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here are a few classic ad campaigns that give you the flavor of what a bitcoin brand campaign could look like.<\/p>\n<h2>Mac vs. PC<\/h2>\n<p>This iconic campaign made technology cool, by showing how PCs were actually quite uncool. You could easily see a campaign that turns bitcoin into a funny, relatable character who explains how easy it is to send digital money.<\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0eEG5LVXdKo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<h2>Coca Cola<\/h2>\n<p>This classic Coke ad was years ahead of its time, showing global citizens bonding over a soft drink. In today\u2019s political climate, a bitcoin anthem\u2014sung by people around the world\u2014could explain to a global audience the power of a single source of digital money.<\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1VM2eLhvsSM\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">There\u2019s only one question: who will pay for it?<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll need an award-winning creative agency to create the bitcoin ads, and then we\u2019ll have to pay for the ad space. (Apple, Geico, and Coke each spend around $1 or $2 billion per year on ad spend).<\/p>\n<p>I think we can decentralize this, with everyone who owns bitcoin chipping in. It\u2019s in the best interest of bitcoin investors, because the more people trust bitcoin, the more your investment grows. All we need is a strong volunteer to lead the fundraising effort. (I would do it, but I\u2019ve got this newsletter to write.)<\/p>\n<p>The bitcoin brand campaign. We only need to raise a billion.
